We are creating a 'map' of the Avon River in image, sound and word. The map will be created for display inside a 6m spherical Dome, which will be in the Northam Arts Centre Nov 21st - Dec 12th, and featured during the Wheatbelt Cultural Festival Dec 5th-7th.

There are opportunities for Avon River communities to contribute and be involved via:

(i) contributing sound and visual material. This might be photographs, drawings, digital data, aerial scans, audio cd's or movies. All material needs to be collated by October 26th.

(ii) working alongside one of the four artists:

Photographing the river with Dave Carson

Recording river sounds/stories with Rob Castiglione

River charcoal/ochre drawn fragments with Margot Watkins

River words with poet Kevin Gillam

All four artists will be at the river during the weekend of 8/9 Nov - members of the community are welcome to be involved in any of the four components for part or all of this weekend.

Other opportunities to be involved in photographing/sound-scaping will happen prior to this - dates are not yet established, but please contact the artists for more information.
